Response to Digital World

I thought that that movie was interesting because it showed just how attached everyone is to new technology that they have to conduct tests to distinguish whether or not a person can multi-task all of those things at once. Even after they proved that you can't multi-task all of those things, people still insist that they can anyway. I believe that i can to a certain degree, but trying to be online and then doing homework while talking to someone on instant messenger; i would not be able to do.
I also thought that it was really sad at the beginning when the lady was talking about her family and how everyone is doing something rather than being together at the dinner table. That showed just how little value there is for family functions amoung certain families.

  1. What did you think about the part where it was showing world of warcraft...and how those 'gamers' were forging new relationships they found to be greater than those relations formed in reality.

like he said its like "being alone together"

  2. I would have to say that it is a fictional relationship because it's not like those people are attracted to the actual individual, but that they are attracted to the fictional made up character that they all create. I mean nobody wants to be alone so i think it is good that people are able to connect through the whole war of worldcraft thing. However, i feel like they are making fictional relationships because those characters aren't actually real and they can be taken away in an instant.
